Obituary of Laurie Ann Shreffler

Laurie Ann Shreffler (Gergen) of Sacramento, CA passed away on Tuesday, March 5, 2024 shortly after a pancreatic cancer diagnosis. She was born on July 17, 1961 in Sacramento, CA. Laurie attended St. Francis High School and graduated from CSU Sacramento with a Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Communications. After graduating, she went on to work as a Project Manager. She sustained an injury at work in 2004 and became disabled. This later gave her the opportunity to be the main childcare provider for her granddaughter.

Laurie loved to read and write. She was a mega fan of The Bee Gees, more specifically Barry Gibb. She loved the beach and watching the ocean waves. Her favorite thing to do was spend time with family. She spent a lot of time with her granddaughter playing board games and baking. Anyone describing Laurie would say she was extremely kind, caring, patient, loving, trustworthy, and devoted to her children and granddaughter.

Laurie was preceded in death by her father, Donald. Laurie is survived by her mother Sharon; stepfather Michael; two daughters, Natalie and Olivia; granddaughter, Lily; and brother, Blake. Laurie was cremated and a memorial service will be held on Friday, March 22nd at Affordable Cremation & Funeral Center, 4750 Beloit Drive from 10am - 12pm. All friends & family are welcome to attend.
